Birth Classes

Natural Birth & Breastfeeding Preparation Class

Every expectant mother wants to know:

  • What is this pain in childbirth?
  • How deep is it?
  • How do I measure up?
  • What can help me?
  • Is it true that I will change my mind and demand an epidural?

You will find support and encouragement in this practical class.  You will learn EXACTLY what to do if you "hit the wall" during your birth process.  Whether you are birthing in or out of the hospital, for those that are after a natural (medication-free) birth, this class is a must!

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR FAITH: Experienced in home and hospital birth; both vaginal and c-section. Have attended hundreds of births, provided thousands of hours of breastfeeding support, in hospital nursery and postpartum units during home visits and in childbirth education. I hope to assist couples with natural childbirth as a goal form strategies to have the most enjoyable and personalized birth experience possible. I want to help them eliminate fear from the birthing process, and when working with a couple, help draw them together.

I am a Canadian who came from a large family of 7 children; my mother was a nurse. Attending my siblings' births inspired me! I wanted to learn ways for women to cope positively with labor. Now I know MANY ways to care for laboring women and relieve her pain outside of medications. I also know how to maximize the benefits of medications used in labor when needed. I can help partners to support the woman and participate fully in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. I want to answer women's questions, and help families seek out evidence-based care. You do not have to give up comfort, satisfaction or dignity to have the safest childbirth possible!
