  • How is Milk Mechanics different than other lactation consultants?
We are the final stop for lost causes and disasters in breastfeeding. Succeed here where you haven't in the past. We are minimally invasive and will never suggest burning your baby with a laser. We will thoroughly interview you and suss out the root cause of your issues. Then we will see you through and remain accountable until you meet your goals. We don't accept every case, but when we do, we win, or your money back (any out of pocket costs). We want clients who are committed to breastfeeding, since we invest with you.
  • Who is the Healthcare Provider?
Your provider is a triple board-certified nurse practitioner (ANCC, AANP, IBCLC) focused on building relationships and providing quality long-term care. The rest of the team is hand selected for their desire to treat clients with the utmost care and respect and to eliminate hassles for them. More about your team HERE.

  • How is a Nurse Practitioner different than a doctor?
Nurse practitioners (NPs) have been around since 1965 and are the best kept secret in healthcare. Most NPs do not work for themselves, so chances are you have met an NP in a physician's office. A nurse practitioner can do the same work as a medical doctor. A nurse practitioner can order testing, imaging, and prescriptions. Just like any family doctor, they will refer you to a specialist when needed.Nurse practitioners are trained in schools of nursing which focus on the human response to illness, providing a holistic approach to health care. NPs take into consideration your habits, lifestyle, personality, and family involvement and encourage the patient and their family to participate in decisions. NPs make prevention, wellness, and patient education priorities which can mean fewer prescriptions and less expensive treatments. With the high patient satisfaction and outcomes documented in research over the last 40 years, nurse practitioners are the future of primary care.

We are a primary care practice, so you probably don't need a referral. Please contact your insurance company for more information on their requirements.
